A Christian Worldview Of Homosexuality
January 2, 1994
v
It was God’s intention that marriage would be a covenantal relationship between a man and a woman.In these first verses, Jesus appeals to the creation account to repudiate the Pharisees on the issue of divorce. In the same way, we can refer back to the creation account to see that God had intended that a husband and a wife were to become one flesh. The language of the second set of reference verses is clear: marriage is between a man and a woman. Any other combination is a false representation of Christ and His Church.
These are positive arguments against homosexuality; by clearly mandating marriage between a man and a woman God is also clearly mandating that marriage not be between two men or two women.

Ephesians 5:31-3331 "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh."
32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. (NKJ)

In these verses scripture clearly argues negatively against homosexuality by defining it as sin.

Ezekiel 16:49-5049 "Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
50 "And they were haughty and committed abomination before Me; therefore I took them away as I saw fit. (NKJ)

Leviticus 18:22-2522 `You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.
23 `Nor shall you mate with any animal, to defile yourself with it. Nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it. It is perversion.
24 `Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you.
25 `For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants. (NKJ)

Leviticus 20:1313 `If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. (NKJ)

Romans 1:26-3226 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.
27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;
29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers,
30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful;
32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. (NKJ)

1 Corinthians 6:9-119 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,
10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. (NKJ)
