"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! For you travel land and
sea to win
one proselyte, and when he
is won, you make him twice as much a
son of hell as yourselves."

| Nothing is more fundamental to the mission of the Christian church than
the duty to make disciples of all nations - a duty which has animated the work of
many faithful evangelists throughout the centuries of protestant
missionary history. But, as Jesus taught us, even evangelism can be done
poorly, or worse, counterproductively. It is not enough to simply
"travel land and sea" to win converts. Careful attention must also be
given to the culture we are leading converts to - a culture that begins
and ends with Christ and His church. A culture of worship, a culture of
feeding upon word and sacrament, of fellowship and hospitality, and a
counter culture to worldly pursuits and worldly thoughts. Please
join us
for our 9th annual Northwest Conference on Reformation and Revival as we
explore together the duty to make disciples of all nations and sons of
God of all disciples. |
