Documents: Statement of Purpose
EEF exists - by the grace of
God and for His glory - for the purpose of equipping the
saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of
the body of Christ, that they should not be like children,
tossed to and fro and carried about by every wind of doctrine.
We therefore place a strong emphasis on rightly dividing
the word of truth and faithfully equipping our members to
live obedient, faithful, and fruitful lives.
Each EEF member/saint is an
essential working element of this visible portion the invisible
body of Christ. Each member is expected to contribute to
the growth and edification of the body by the administration
of the gifts endowed to them by our Lord Jesus Christ. We
assist one another by assembling ourselves together to stir
up love and good works and exhorting one another.
EEF is Reformed in its theological
emphasis. We believe in the inerrancy and complete sufficiency
of scripture as our rule for all faith and conduct. We believe
in the utter sovereignty of God, His absolute power, authority,
and control over all that was, is, and shall be. We believe
in the wonderful doctrine of grace which explains how God
is pleased to save some people - the elect saints of God
- and not others, according to His good purpose, without
regard to their merit so that no one may boast, and how
He will cause each of His elect saints to persevere in the
faith to the end. We believe in the cultural mandate to
" make disciples of all the nations" and the corresponding
obligation of Christians to live actively in society and
work for the transformation of the world and its cultures.
